I am unpatiently awaiting the decision about the "hub" . Lets have some fun in these extraordinary times : Use the hub to decide the World Cup of the whole season and the quotas for the next. Use the hub to decide the national quotas for the upcoming international championships in the second part of the season. Go for a championship hub in Heerenveen. Safe and sound solution. Merge the EK and 4CC into a WK, with the twist of awarding EK and 4CC medals after 3 distances in the allround tournaments. A hub also containing the WSD Championships.
Dat lijkt me goed behapbaar: het lijkt me lastig om 4-5 weken lang voor een paar honderd man hotels continu moet afhuren. Maar ik laat me graag verrassen.
Little bit unclear to me what kind of changes the ISU Council can make at the moment on its own, or on behalf so to speek. But each country must be able to travel into the Netherlands and compete of course. Thats the purpose of a hub,
Well, maybe ask Jumbo Visma skaters about upcoming decisions. Must have heard rumours? https://www.facebook.com/JumboVismaIce/photos/a.2737401919655681/3596117593784105/?type=3&theater
Interesting news today in the aftermath of the Jumbo Visma presentation. Orie Quite sure that it will be a bubble in Heerenveen.(90%) Suggestions say that it will be three week ends in a row with competitions. Skaters accomodated for four weeks. World Cup important Orie says. Three Events before X-mas (not four of course). Urging for an outdoor-event in the second half. Collalbo? Satisfied that the ISU try the utmost to save the importants Events and Championships in the second half of the season. Seriously: nice news today although it will be without spectators. Looking forward to some skating.
As mentioned by others: Why not some events in weekdays too? Fewer skaters at the rink at the same time is safer. Dont have to think about filling the stands this time. Speedskating on the telly/streams almost every day for a period on the other hand has the possibility to do something with the interest for the sport. Worth a try. Could also possibly trig some more interest in the qualifying aspects both to the A-groups, the championships and World Cup quotas for next season if one televise (or stream rather) the B-groups. A- and B- was initially created to satisfy the broadcasters. Kind of a new reality now with all platforms and streams.
