It was one hell of a ride from Heerenveen, I barely made it to Schiphol. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong!
At first, since I couldn't use my rented bike anymore, I had to order a taxi from Oranjewoud to H'veen station, I had ordered it in advance the evening prior but then in the morning it didn't show up. It was less than 30 mins to the train. Turned out they lost my booking. Well.
Still, I managed to make it to the train 4 mins before the arrival. When I did tho, the train suddenly stopped halfway between Heerenveen and Zwolle and didn't move for half an hour. And then they announced that there's a commotion on the track and the train won't go further than Zwolle. Fuck.
I am SO EXTREMELY grateful and lucky that 1. I can understand Dutch very well and 2. i'm very familiar with everything in the Netherlands since I used to live here so I knew exactly what to do and what train to take next. I can only imagine the confusion of a regular tourist that wouldn't know what was going on — I mean they didn't transmit the messages in English, only in Dutch.
I stepped over to another train shortly, but by that time I have already lost one hour of precious time so I arrived at Schiphol very tightly, only one hour before the flight. And now I'm waiting for the plane to take off.
I'll see you all in Eesti!!
