Overview "Sk8TheStates" (STS) is a 3,500 mile inline skate journey created to benefit Youth Heart Watch beginning in Atlantic City, NJ and finishing in Manhattan Beach, Los Angeles, CA. We will be raising money and awareness about the conditions associated with sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) in the young-and to eventually prevent SCA. The goal is to raise $400,000 to help develop automated external defibrillator (AED) programs in schools and sporting facilities throughout the country. During the trip we will be stopping through each city speaking about SCA in public schools and in some cases state capitol buildings, educating the public on what we are doing and attempting to help pass Bills in the states that do not have a law requiring public schools to have AEDs. We also will be raising funds to conduct free heart screenings in cities with a goal of eventually screening 25,000-50,000 children and teens across the United States.
