AquaTech™ HEAT-MOLDING INSTRUCTIONS - Giving Your Boot A Custom Fit
Congratulations on your purchase of AquaTech™ ‘enhanced’ Luigino Racing boots. Follow the simple steps listed below and get ready to experience the best fitting shoe ever with our new revolutionary AquaTech™ heat-molding technology. This process is 100% guaranteed under warranty.
1. Locate a large pot with lid that fits ONE shoe at a time.
2. Locate your waterproof bag, (provided with purchase of all 2010 AquaTech™ shoes and also sold separately.)
3. Fill the pot half full of water (or just full enough so that the water doesn’t spill over after placing the shoe inside the pot.)
4. Bring water to a soft boil.
5. Prep the boot, opening the laces making it easy to put foot inside. Push the tongue into the boot and open Velcro if applicable.
6. Place one boot heel first into the plastic bag.
7. Place the boot/bag into the boiling water with the open end of the bag hanging over the edge, putting the lid on the pot to hold and seal the bag during the molding process. The boot will float on top. Secure the lid and patiently allow the hot water to work its magic!
8. Leave shoe in the water for minimum of 10 minutes up to 20 minutes. (Do not stress, hot water will not damage your boots if you leave it longer.)
9. Remove the boot & bag being careful of the steam when removing the lid.
10. Remove the boot from the bag. *DO NOT TOUCH THE HOT METAL PIECES (I.E. BUCKLE.) Be sure the tongue is positioned in the center of the foot to protect your foot from touching the hot eyelets.
11. Sitting on a chair, carefully place the heated shoe on your foot. Keep in mind the upper materials are hot therefore, very pliable and conforming.
12. With your foot in the shoe, tie it snug but not too tight. If molding an Ultra model, pull the Velcro strap very tight to ensure the ankle and top of the shoe is molded precisely. (*Note - pull the Velcro strap straight out, NOT up.)
13. Still seated, position your knees directly over your toes, thighs parallel to the ground creating a 90º angle and hold that position for 15 minutes. (Be sure your leg, foot and hip are even to ensure the shoe is being molded properly around the ankles, tendon and instep).
14. Remove the shoe and allow it to sit 2 hours. You may expedite the process by placing in a freezer for 20 minutes. (Do not strap buckles, tie laces, or attach Velcro during this process).
Congratulations! You have now successfully molded your Luigino Racing Shoes. If for any reason your feet go through changes or your shoe alters in shape you can repeat these steps as many times as you like. If you are going to resell your Luigino Racing Shoes, you may also follow these steps to give the new owner the same custom fit. Warranties are non-transferable.
EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN HEAT-MOLDING!
Any heat-molding method requires caution as metal boot parts can become very hot. By following the above instructions and being careful not to touch metal components while hot, your AquaTech™ Heat-Molding experience should be a 'pain-free' success. Children under the age of 18 should have adult supervision while heat-molding.
