World Cup Speed Skating ranking rules The World Cup ranking for each distance category is determined by the number of points the skaters (or national Pursuit teams) accumulate during the season. In the final World Cup ranking, as well as in the intermediate ranking during the season, a tie between skaters/teams with the same total of World Cup points will be resolved according to the following criteria (in order of priority) for determining the better ranked skater/team: i) The skater/team with the higher number of victories. ii) The skater/team with the higher score of points in one single competition (race). iii) The skater/team with the higher score of points in the latest competition (race) held. If neither of these criteria resolves the tie, the skaters (teams) shall have the same World Cup rank. Dit las ik op de site van de ISU. DIt is wel een eerlijkere manier om de winnaar van de wereldbeker aan te wijzen. Vorig jaar werd Ireen Wüst bijv. winnaar van de World Cup op de 1500 meter omdat ze de laatste wedstrijd had gewonnen, maar volgens de nieuwe regels zou Anni Friesinger hem dus gewonnen hebben, omdat zij meer overwinningen had behaald. Goede zaak dus! (maar wel een jaar te laat jammer genoeg.. :wink: )
Komen ze nu nog eens mee. :shock: :roll: Maar goed, ik vind het ook een hele verbetering, want zoals het vorig jaar ging, was wel een beetje onrechtvaardig.
