hi first of all i'd like to introduce myself. i live in the north of the ruhrgebiet in nrw, germany, and am an winterweather and iceskating enthusiast. i had to search a while, but finally found this beautiful board. i hope i can get some first hand information from here, because i am hoping for a chance to take part in an marathon on natural ice this winterseason. it would be my first event in nl, the mekka of iceskating, ever, because i did not have a chance to get to the netherlands this january when ice-conditions were brilliant. luckily this winter appears to be quite rough and remain so. even if there will be some higher temperatures and rain in the next days a new period of nice winterweather seems to appear at the beginning of the new year. so my dream of an elfstedentocht in 2010 still remains ;D however i found this forum i am still searching for icedata, so i can only assume from temperature and length of the freezing period how thick the ice might already be. the only source, that i found was this page, where the last entry was on the 19th of december: http://htmlgear.tripod.com/guest/contro ... i=7&a=view so i decided to start this thread to get an international diskussion started.
