Hi everyone, My name is James, and I am a speedskating fan in the US. I could not find any good American speedskating message boards because barely anyone in the US follows speedskating except during the Olympics, so that is why I have come here. I hope no one objects to me posting messages in English. I realize that the vast majority of Netherlanders know English as well, but some of you might not. In any event, feel free to respond to any of my posts in Dutch. I will continue to use an online service to get an instant basic translation. Anyway...The first speedskating event I ever attended was the men's 5000m at the 2002 Olympics. I have also attended the 2006 World Allround Championships in Calgary and the 2007 World Single Distance Championships in Salt Lake. This summer, I will be moving to Salt Lake for graduate school, so I will be able to attend more competitions that will be held there. I am not a competitive skater, but I like to skate recreationally.
